Preserve and protect the Expanded Universe of the Star Wars series by declaring it a National Treasure.

We, the People, do hereby petition the government to protect and preserve the Expanded Universe of Star Wars, including but not limited to, books, movies, comics, graphic novels, encyclopediae, manuals, games, animations, and any and all other forms, by declaring it a National Treasure as it is a truly American creation, and should be preserved for future generations. This would protect it from exploitation from greedy corporations who seek only to commercialize all aspects of Star Wars, parsing and cutting away anything that will not make them money. By the preservation and protection of the Star Wars Expanded Universe material, it will not fade away and be forgotten, but remembered and honored as something that has brought laughter and joy to literally millions of people around the world
