During Japanese colonization, more than 50,000 Korean women were tricked, kidnapped by Japanese soldiers, and were forced to become military sexual slaves. They had to serve 10-30 men a day and death only waited for those who attempted to run away.
The surviving women are still holding a protest in front of the Japanese Embassy for governmental compensation and formal apologies. However the Japanese government has yet given a clear answer and is turning their face away. Korea has witnessed sexual enslavement of her daughters but Japan’s responsibility has never been admitted. Thus, the people of Korea call upon the Obama Administration not to let Japan’s fault from being justified and distorted.
We strongly urge not to remove the monument, and let Japan’s crime be the lesson of the history
