From Obama: “If Americans of every background stand up and say, ‘Enough, we’ve suffered too much pain and care too much about our children [and women] to allow this to continue, then change will come.’ He added, “If there’s even one life that can be saved, then we’ve got an obligation to try.”
According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), since 1973, roughly 50 million legal induced abortions have been performed in the United States. According to the same CDC, 784,507 abortions were reported to CDC for 2009. In 2008, 12 women were reported to have died as a result of complications from known legal induced abortions.
While we understand that issuing an Executive Order to save the life of a child will be difficult, “if these things were easy it would have been done already.”
