preserve the St Albans VA in NY for our Veterans in need of local medical care. Bill HR 1799 needs to be in Bill HR 2055

Created by R.H. on December 15, 2011

Support our current and returning veterans in New York’s Queens & Nassau counties by retrofitting the St. Albans VA hospital in Jamaica, Queens. A VA hospital would provide our Vets the much needed local medical care for traumatic brain injury, PTSD, women's health issues and other critical problems. They now travel hours to get care. End destructive EUL's. This is a historic and landmark eligible property. Private development would be detrimental to our veterans and to the minority community that surrounds this site. A VA hospital would bring jobs to this highly unemployed community. Bipartisan bill 112 HR 1799 sent to conference under bill HR 2055 RFS(sec 416), supports these goals. The Senate must support this legislation and we urge the Obama administration to push this agenda forward.
