The United States is known as the greatest country in the world because of one word - UNITED. However, this term no longer describes our nation as compromise has become extinct. Instead of reaching hands over party lines, we run screaming from the possibility of not getting our way. Both parties are to blame. Recently, the extreme of secession has drawn attention on this website unsatisfactory election results. No matter what party you affiliate yourself with, the president's office deserves respect - if you do not agree with his policies, speak with your local representative or start a petition on the issue itself. Don't jump straight to the thought of leaving. We the Students of Texas propose that President Obama ignore secession requests, and instead focus on rebuilding our nation.
