The President, Congress and all federal elected officials should have to pay for their own healthcare/medical insurance.

I propose that the President, congress and all federal employees that receive free health insurance and/or benefits, have to purchase it starting when the mandatory health insurance plan begins. If insurance premiums are forced on citizens, they should be forced on the government employees who do not pay for it. My experience in Massachusetts with mandatory health insurance was my premium went from $75 per pay period to $200 per pay period within 18 months, the co pay went from $20 to $40, prescriptions doubled and previously covered procedures decreased. Let those who get it for free see what that feels like. Mandatory insurance will make coverage even more difficult to obtain as the costs will do nothing but increase as you had to buy the coverage or pay a penalty.
