President Obama, admit to your cognitive impairment in forming sound drug policy due to past marijuana usage.

Created by S.M. on October 30, 2011

Mr. President, you think that marijuana usage, both as a recreation and as a medicine, will disappear because of its prohibition. Let it be clear: it is not a synthetic drug (like methamphetamine). It is unreasonable to think that this plant, which can be easily grown in ANY house, can be prohibited entirely.

With that being said, your administration's previous response to this issue stated that "Preventing drug use is the most cost-effective way to reduce drug use and its consequences in America." If this is true, explain how it is cost-effective to spend billions of dollars to achieve no marked difference in either the demand or the supply of marijuana in the United States.

Also, please explain why the "War on Drugs" will be successful now when it has never been in the past.

Thank you
