We the people ask the federal government to Take or explain a position on an issue or policy:

President Obama: Call both houses of Congress into session and keep them there until they pass gun control legislation.

Created by S.F. on June 14, 2016

President Obama: We are faced with an epidemic of mass shootings, preventable accidental shootings, and the easy access to guns by terrorists and individuals with mental issues. We ask that you call both houses of Congress into session and don't release them until they pass gun control legislation, including an assault weapons ban, Federal registration of all guns and owners, in-depth background checks for all sales of guns and ammo, mandatory safety education and testing to obtain a permit, and some form of accountability from gun owners for injury and loss of life involving their weapons (e.g. an insurance requirement as with an automobile).
