President Obama: Give a public address laying out what you know about President-Elect Trump to the American people

Created by Z.H. on December 13, 2016

Mr. President, many of us are concerned that Donald Trump represents an existential threat to American democracy. His actions and statements since becoming President-Elect suggest that we are witnessing an event that our nation’s founders greatly feared: the rise of a populist demagogue susceptible to manipulation by hostile foreign powers. You have direct knowledge of Mr. Trump, as well as of the nature of Russian interference in our electoral process. In the interests of the American people, we urge you to immediately make a national public address, either telling us why you believe Mr. Trump does not represent a threat to the Republic, or laying out what you know about the danger he represents, so that the American people and the Electoral College can be fully informed.
