President Obama: Intervene in the injustice that is being done in Bangladesh

Created by S.H. on May 08, 2013

Mr. President:

In the words of a famous Humanitarian, Dr. King Jr., “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” But sadly, egregious violations of human rights, wanton extrajudicial killings and large-scale state-sponsored intimidation by the present regime are taking away voices of the masses.

Mr. President, you and I may not subscribe to the religions of the people who are being brutalized, nor may we share their values or ideologies. But one thing, I believe, we do share with them is the intolerance of injustice. The Bangladesh Government must be told that they cannot resort to violence whenever their constituents exercise their basic human rights to express their grievances.

Thank you for your time.
