The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) currently classifies medical marijuana (cannabis) as a Schedule I Controlled Substance, placing it on par with heroin & asserting that it has no medical value whatsoever. This is clearly an outdated & erroneous assessment of medical marijuana, & needs to be changed immediately. With the stroke of a pen, President Obama could force the DEA to reclassify medical marijuana as a Schedule III Controlled Substance, making its use legal as a medical intervention for a variety of ailments when prescribed by a qualified medical professional. No human being should be forced to suffer when there is a treatment available to manage (or even eliminate) serious medical conditions. Big Pharma and government corruption should not be allowed to stand in the way.
