Marijuana is linked to far fewer injuries or deaths than alcohol or tobacco. And yet while we allow our citizens to kill themselves with these substances, those who advocate the use of this safer substance sit in jail. Drug cartels kill thousands to smuggle it across our borders. Our citizens get hooked on meth and crack because they must deal with real criminals who will not even ID a child before selling it to them. And our state and federal governments are missing the opportunity to make billions of dollars in tax revenue to close our budget deficit and pursue and capture the criminals that make the really dangerous drugs that kill thousands of our children every year. It's time to repeal the prohibition of marijuana just like we repealed the prohibition of alcohol.
