Mr President,
Your coming across as a weak president in your dealings with congress. You need to take some risk and hold to your position when your right. In particular, the upcoming raising of the debt ceiling should not be held hostage to anything. In fact, you should have the Senate pass a law to abolish the requirement and pass it to the House. When they reject it, blast them for not being willing to pay for the bills they have already incurred. Don't negotiate with them, as you have already stated. I'm living just on my social security but would be willing to take a hit to break this cycle of stupidity and show the world who the real idiots are. Stopped acting like Jimmy Carter and take a page from Clinton's fight with another House Speaker.
