...was 2 years sober, studying for his GED, newly married, leading AA meetings but was sentenced to 10 years in prison because around the time he was getting sober he happened to have introduced an old junkie girlfriend to a dealer he knew. She got arrested, named him, and now the judge had no discretion to look at this man's life since then. He's just been sent to prison for 10 years.
Of course, he's not the only one, just one of the most recent where hysteria over crime leads to illogical prison sentences.
You are about to leave office in a few months. Please go through and correct these egregious injustices by pardoning Leo and others like him.
