Since President Obama's election in 2008, the country has grown more partisan and divided. This is currently reflected in the 2016 Presidential primaries and will only grow worse during the general election.
President Obama should appoint a Chief Inclusion Officer whose mission is to work and meet with marginalized populations in an effort to promote compassion, understanding, and perspective. This individual will foster a culture of inclusion in America so that these groups can have their voices heard. Bringing together representatives from these groups will lead to greater understanding, unity, and cooperation.
If nothing else, it will help set a better tone for the 2016 election and beyond. Hopefully it is something that can be replicated by future administrations.
