The 2016 election has been a divisive campaign with unprecedented rhetoric from both sides. Before the election President Obama and Mrs. Clinton spoke a lot about a peaceful transition of power, respecting the results of the election, respecting the other side, and "stronger together." In fact, substantial focus was placed upon Mr. Trump to demand that he lead his followers to be calm and respectful, should he lose the election. Ironically, now, we see supporters of Mrs. Clinton taking to streets, at times violently, burning images of Mr. Trump, burning US flags, insulting and threatening people who voted for Mr. Trump. It is incumbent upon President Obama to follow their own guidance and denounce any violence and instruct respect, tolerance, unity and acceptance of the election results.
