As the first black President of the United States, Barack Obama has a unique perspective from which to speak about racial issues, many of which have been highlighted by the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri.
By sending other officials instead, such as Attorney General Eric Holder, the President is missing an unprecedented opportunity of historic proportions to bring the discussion of race relations, reconciliation and national healing to the forefront.
