We the people ask that Florida State University's Board of Trustees reconsider their decision to hire State Senator John Thrasher as president. His legislative experience is both vast and impressive, but we are concerned about his experience in both educational policy and classroom experience. In addition, Senator Thrasher's creationists' ideology is respected and constitutionally protected as an American citizen, but We the People are concerned that ideology may become a factor in his work as an administrator of a public university, which promotes scientific progression through credible research.
Once again, we ask that the Board of Trustees reconsider their decision, and that Senator Thrasher continue serving as a government official, rather than Florida State University's president.
