President should send the Senate nominees to fill all federal judicial vacancies by May 1

Created by B.B. on March 09, 2013

Justice and democracy are under attack by the unelected, life-tenured federal judiciary which shows contempt for elected branches and by Senators abusing filibuster rules which must be changed if abuse continues that prevents filling the large number of judicial vacancies. Democracy is threatened by decisions that allow the wealthy buy elections while attacking the right to vote in elections and by decisions such as the D.C. Circuit attacking recess appointments which should have no precedent value since it would have been decided differently if vacancies were filled. Women, workers, consumers, minorities, the poor and justice for all Americans are systematically disadvantaged by numerous vacancies and Senate abuse that prevent
confirmation of nominees.
