A bad rumor has been going around that President Obama created a new litmus test for high level military officers. The false claim is that Military Leaders must agree that they will fire on US citizens if commanded and those who will not agree are being removed. This sort of rumor is based on fear. To alleviate that fear, an executive order by the President of the United States should be signed that states:
The President will never give an order to our nation’s military to fire upon U.S. Citizens on our soil.
This executive order could create a baseline of trust. It would be natural for President Barack Obama, the Joint Chief’s of Staff, and members of our nation’s armed services to be signors on this petition.
