Pre-911 Gulf War soldiers were likely exposed to low-dose chemical weapons from bombing of chemical weapon manufacturing plants prior to the 1991 ground war and to chemical weapons after explosive destruction of large depots of chemical weapons at Khamisiyah, Iraq, in 1991. As an example, sarin and cyclosarin nerve agents.
In fact, most scientific and medical experts include such low dose possibilities within the "toxic cocktail" that could be causing Gulf War Illnesses.
It is time that the President of the United States publicly acknowledge these facts. It is sad to hear important policy makers state that United States "soldiers" have not been exposed to chemical weapons since WWI.
