American college student Otto Warmbier, 21, was found guilty by the North Korean Supreme Court of committing a “hostile act” against the country.
In January 2016, Otto was arrested for attempting to steal a propaganda sign from a hotel and was subsequently sentenced to 15 years of prison and hard labor.
We The People beseech the United States government to do everything in its power to press the government of North Korea to immediately release this United States citizen since his punishment is highly disproportionate, excessive, and unreasonable.
Mr. President, please stand up in defense of this young man who still has his whole life ahead of him. A life, now threatened to be devastated by a totalitarian regime.
