Every time there is a mass killing in this country the media covers it 24/7. Inevitably the conversation turns to the story of the perpetrator, dissecting every known fact of his/her lives. This glorifies and gives popularity to a person who has caused incredible tragedy. The media does this because we as Americans cannot help be be interested in such a major event.
There needs to be a law enacted that at a minimum prevents the killer's name and photo from being released. The story of course cannot be held back as this would be a violation of the freedom of press but if future would be killers see this change it may just prevent them from committing the crime.
