Recently, as a pure political stunt to ostracize gun owners, the Journal News has published the names and addresses of all gun permit holders in several counties of New York online via an interactive map. This has led to convicts utilizing this map to threaten prison guards and their families.
We demand that all government possessed information pertaining to gun ownership be made private, or completely deleted. The current system in New York makes it all too easy for criminals to target their victims. These systems clearly serve no benefit to the public other than making said public a target of violent acts.
