Pressure Congress to repeal the current NCLB law and replace it with a new version of the ESEA proposed by the NEA.

Created by B.A. on November 25, 2012

We want education reform to take top priority. The current system is failing to improve our schools, and the United States continues to lag behind other countries in proficiency in such crucial subjects and science and mathematics. We would like for the federal government to implement programs stated at http://www.nea.org/home/13158.htm that are not already in effect, including (but not limited to): shifting AYP from a penalty system to a rewards system, inclusion of multiple measures to better represent progress (such as graduation rates, attendance rates, number of students enrolled in AP, IB, or honors courses, etc.) rather than just test scores, provide additional flexibility for ELL students and students with disabilities, and support a program to reduce class size.
