In 1977, the world changed with the release of George Lucas' "Star Wars." The saga imbued in many a person the values of family, honor, courage, justice, & the battle for what is viewed as good.
In 1997 (release of the Special Editions), George Lucas assaulted his own created staples of American popular culture. He pandered to some disturbed sensibility of wholesomeness, removing Han's preemptive shot. Lucas underwrote what was the purest cultural lesson of moral ambiguity.
I ask Pres. Obama to pressure Disney to rerelease the original cuts of the trilogy. Restore the original movies, and bring back the truth.
