Why do we boast about our freedoms, but then ignore and even mock those fighting so vigorously for their own?
Mohamed Soltan is an Egyptian-American who protested Egypt's slide from struggling democracy to military dictatorship. For his advocacy and courageous, uncompromising stance against injustice, Soltan was imprisoned and sentenced to life imprisonment in farcical show trials.
Mohamed has engaged in a hunger strike for over a year. While his health has declined precipitously, he is calling on fellow Americans to advocate his release. The government should not continue to supply cash, ammunition, and weaponry to tyrants, while overlooking their abuse towards American citizens.
I call upon decent men and women of conscience to support liberty and justice for Mohamed Soltan.
