pressure the Ethiopian government on issues of Rule of law,Human Rights and Free Press.Tie aid money to Good governance

The U.S being a major donor to the Ethiopian government (EPRDF) should PRESSURE the Ethiopian government (EPRDF) on Issues of Rule of Law, Human Rights, Democratization and Free Press. The Current Ethiopian government (EPRDF) has been in power for the past 23 years and during this the government has jailed,persecuted and tortured journalists, opposition political party members and dissidents as well as abused citizens. We ask the U.S government to demand the release of political prisoners and journalists. We ask the U.S government to demand the freeing up of political space for opposition political parties, the set up of independent Election Board free from state/party influence and the reestablishment of civil society groups.
