pressure the FDA to lift it's ban on gay men donating blood and to adopt a more gay friendly restriction. 12 months.

Created by S.D. on February 07, 2013

The FDA has a ban that does not allow gay men who have sex with other men to donate blood and issues an indefinite deferral to them. I would like to see that ban lifted. I know gay men who have gay sex pose a greater health hazard with HIV, but a twelve month restriction is a much more gay friendly restriction than an indefinite deferral. We should band together in 2013 to end this long time ban that the FDA has justified with a "health hazzard." I want YOU, the people, to sign this petition to get President Obama and our government to pressure the FDA to reconsider this censurable ban. Afterall, this isn't 1977, where all gay men were rapist and pedophiles.
