On March 12, 2013 NHL Hall of Famer and Stanley Cup-winning Larry Murphy was callously fired from Fox Sports Detroit (FSD). Mr. Murphy told M-live, “They said they just needed a change, ratings weren't what they were. That was basically it (for an explanation)."
As many hockey fans are well aware, the NHL is on a shortened season due to billionaires fighting with millionaires, and the low ratings can be attributed to a lack of interest by the casual fan or those fed up with Gary Bettman and Donald Fehr.
Mr. Murphy was beloved by the local fans and admired by the viewers of FSD for his vast knowledge of the game, critical insight, and ability to add a player's spin on the game's happenings.
Please support this petition in reinstating Mr. Murphy to at least finish his remaining contract.
