pressure the government of Mexico to release Yecenia Armenta Graciano from her wrongful imprisonment.

Created by M.M. on December 08, 2015

In 2012, Yecenia Armenta Graciano's husband was killed. Local police charged her for the crime without any proof.

They arrested her, blindfolded her, tortured her, and raped her over the course of 15 hours. She told Amnesty International, "They said they would bring my two children, rape them and cut them up into pieces. After many hours of torture and after they’d raped me, I signed the confession. I was still blindfolded. I never even read what I had signed.”

Two independent medical examinations concluded that the torture did indeed occur.

Yecenia will likely never leave prison or see her children again unless the U.S. Government pressures the Attorney General of Sinaloa State, Mexico to release Yecenia from prison and investigate those responsible for this travesty.
