Because the Russian Federation has passed legislation that allows the public to harm members of the LGBTQ Community;
Because Vladimir Putin has voiced inhumane beliefs regarding the legislation passed which devalues the LGBTQ Community as people;
and because government officials of Russia vow to arrest, fine, imprison and refuse protection to anyone (including American citizens) who voices a contrary opinion,
We request that the Obama Administration pressure the International Olympic Committee to move the site of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games to a country that does not discriminate against people for who they are.
We also request that the Administration urge other National governments of other countries do the same.
