The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has modified their Prohibited Items List to allow certain small knives. The purpose of this petition is to urge the President to act on behalf of the American public and return the policy that has existed since 9/11. Small knives and larger knives alike are fully capable of intimidating and harming both passengers and flight crew. A person would simply need to look at our prisons and jails to see the damage that can be done with small, sharp objects. Over the last decade thousands upon thousands of knives have been confiscated by the TSA and its diligent employees. Who's to say how many of those people intended to do harm if they could have gotten their knives on board a plane? It simply makes sense to revert to what has kept us safe.
