Pretend these petitions are taken seriously. Respond to the 28,522 people opposed to wasting billions on the US drug war

I'll just reiterate what was already stated in the other anti-war on drug petitions. We waste hundreds of billions of dollars on the war on drugs. I don't suggest that you make all drugs legal, I personally think marijuana should be illegal, but that's not the point. I just think we should stop spending billions on a failed war within our country. I'd just like you to respond to this issue and explain/justify how the war on drugs is not an astronomical waste of federal and state dollars, when clearly over the past 40 years it has been ineffective. Also, I'd like you to address what the war has accomplished, then ponder what else we could be using that money on; such as education.
