Some states in the USA, particularly Kansas and South Dakota, have either passed or are attempting to pass laws that would allow for the legal segregation of LGBT Americans. These laws will allow for businesses to refuse service to or fire LGBT Americans on the basis of their sexuality. They will also allow any government employee to discriminate against or refuses service to LGBT Americans(such as the police or state hospitals).
LGBT Americans could be banned from public parks, public pools, and anything that operates under the aegis of the state governments.
These laws are scarily reminiscent of the laws which segregated and oppressed African Americans not too long ago.
As a country we should be moving forward, not back into the dark ages.
