This is based on general principle of the state of the governenment. No elected member of either of the House or Senate should be allowed to leave Washington, DC until a vote on the resolution of the fiscal cliff has been completed prior to December 31, 2012. The only acceptable reason to this writer would be an absolute family emergency. Other than that the holidays have been cancelled. Period. This petition is tied to the petition which says none of you should paid for your work in Washington in this time frame either.
