Gun laws must not be changed due to the recent tragedy in Sandy Hook Elementary school. There are already checks in place that should be enforced to keep weapons out of the hands of those who should not posses them. Restricting the right of the people to keep an bear arms is against what the founding fathers intended.
To make my point I include the following quote from George Washington illustrating what the founding fathers believed the right to keep arms intended.
"A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.” – George Washington
