It should be recognized that equal access to competent health care should not be solely a marketable commodity or service, but a necessity of human decency in pretty much the same vein as the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Equal access to an effective health care MAY provide a "level playing field" by which all other opportunities for self-improvement can have a hope to emanate.
I strongly urge our leadership to organize and fund opensource research and planning projects that allows individuals and groups of varying fields of study to participate in a comprehensive, worldwide, and transparent, evidence-based research and planning process that may significantly contribute to building an effective and affordable performance-based U.S. health care system.
