Cable isp's are allowed to sign an exclusive contract with a city to cover a certain area, preventing other cable isp's from being able to compete in the same area. This prevent fair trade and a competitive marketplace.
There needs to be a law to allow all cable isp's to service all areas, cities, and zip codes, in the USA. Many areas/cities only provide service from one isp. Said isp signs a contract with the city to provide service in these areas and disallow other cable isp's from competing.
Cable internet provides faster speed than dsl, meaning it should be viewed differently in the laws eyes, than other internet types. Law based on service type (e.g. cable/dsl/fiber) should be viewed as different services and monopoly laws should spread to area/city. Prevent exclusive isp's to areas
