On the March 22, 2015 edition of "Last Week Tonight" John Oliver spoke out regarding fines for municipal violations and predatory "collection agencies" which disproportionately target the poor and minorities.
We the people, call for our President and our government to outlaw this burden which is unjustly penalizing our most vulnerable with fees and ballooning surcharges which causes fees to double, triple, or more.
People should be punished for municipal violations, but if people cannot pay then payment plans should be made available (free of charge) to those who keep up on payments.
It should be illegal for predatory collection agencies to demand excessive monthly payments and send those who cannot pay to debtors prisons.
Please Mr. President, end the **** barrel.
