PREVENT DOMINION POER FROM OBTAINING A PERMIT TO DUMP COAL ASH WASTE IN THE JAMES RIVER AND THE POTOMAC RIVER IN VA

Created by J.S. on January 20, 2016

Dominion Power is abusing their power and asking officials for a permit that benefits no one, they plan to dump coal ash which contains highly toxic waste metals such as MERCURY and ARSENIC into the James river and the Potomac river in the state of Virginia. This may be a violation of the clean water act and poses severe risks as these rivers are Chesapeake bay watershed and dumping coal ash will have detrimental effects on wildlife, water quality, and poses a risk to our clean water throughout all of the Chesapeake bay area watershed. Dominion MUST find an alternative solution that does not put the environment at risk. The state should not grant any permit until there is sufficient evidence and clear proof that dumping coal ash into rivers will NOT have a negative effect on our water
