Presently, two American healthcare workers who chose to expose themselves to the Ebola virus by working at an Ebola clinic in Africa contracted the disease. Plans are now underway to transport these individuals, who are actively infected with Ebola, back to America for treatment. We urge President Obama to ensure that they do not gain entry into the United States.
The CDC has a responsibility to control and prevent disease. Knowingly spreading the Ebola virus to a continent where it currently does not exist shows a flagrant and reckless disregard for public health and safety.
Any plan allowing Ebola-infected individuals into the country is a threat to national security and to public health and safety, and it must be stopped.
