Prevent employers from cutting hours simply to avoid paying benefits. The minimum wage doesn't work on under 30 hours.

Many companies hire large numbers of part time workers to avoid paying benefits when many of those workers are looking for full time work. The minimum wage was designed for 40+ hour work weeks and government programs are having to cover the difference when workers can't get more than 30 hours a week. Force companies to offer full time positions before hiring more part time workers, possibly remove any cooperate tax breaks awarded for part time employees, and/or allow part time employees to set their own hours to facilitate working multiple jobs.
