The Obama Administration plans to give up control of the internet to a group known as ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) by October 1st 2016. This group is a private entity based in California that plans to give countries such as Russia, China, and Iran the ability to alter what can and cannot be on the internet based on their whims.
