Prevent the extradition of Amanda Knox to the nation of Italy.

Created by E.M. on January 30, 2014

In 2009, Amanda Knox was convicted on flimsy evidence of the murder of Meredith Kercher by an Italian court. Both that conviction and a later acquittal have been overturned; Knox was recently re-convicted in absentia, as the Italian constitution does not provide protections against double jeopardy.

After her trial, her human rights were repeatedly violated. In addition to being sexually harassed by her guards, she was told that her blood had tested positive for HIV and forced to compile a list of former lovers which was subsequently leaked to the press. Sending her back would be a grave miscarriage of justice, and would serve only to expose an American citizen to further abuse. For these reasons, it is imperative that America refuse to extradite Amanda Knox to Italy.
