Prevent the FDA from releasing the powerful pain killer Zohydro next month and increase regulations on current opioids

Introducing yet another opioid to the public will likely increase prescription abuse and overdoses. Research has shown that Zohydro is ten times more powerful than the already abused Oxycontin and can kill an adult with just two doses. This petition is to reverse the FDA's approval of the Zohydro release set for March 2014 to help prevent the American abuse and dependency on opioids. The goal of this petition is to also increase awareness of the powerful drug and prevent its future release. The FDA should focus on better controlling the current opioids available to the public rather than give people yet another option for abuse.
