Every year millions of people get ill from preventable food-borne illnesses. Unfortunately it also causes many preventable deaths as well. Not only does this needlessly raise healthcare costs for everyone, but it hurts our economy and families.
Basic food safety and sanitation curriculum taught in schools could significantly reduce the millions of "24 hour stomach bugs" which are really food poisoning. It is a national requirement for middle school children and high school children be taught about how the US Constitution and US Government works, and pass before being allowed to go into high school or receive their high school diploma.
We the undersigned believe the same should be required of food safety and sanitation since eating is a requirement for all people.
