Prevent Gray Wolves from Losing Endangered Species Protection

We urge the Obama administration to heed Americans' wishes regarding the status of the gray wolf as an endangered species. We oppose the proposal to de-list the gray wolf, because it is not based on the best available science, undermines decades of conservation work done to protect the gray wolf, and sets a bad precedent for future Endangered Species Act delistings. Moreover, the rule is neither consistent with the ESA nor Congress’ intent to protect and recover imperiled species and the ecosystems on which they depend. The Fish and Wildlife Service has been inconsistent in its handling of the case so far. We urge the Obama administration to become more closely involved in retaining protection for the gray wolf.
