Doctors and patients should be the ultimate authority on whether labs, procedures and diagnostics tests should be preformed. An insurance company should not dictate what a doctor can order based on a patient's coverage. All ordered tests should be covered if a doctor deems them necessary to treat the patient, without input from the insurance company. An insurance company's role should be limited to payment of bills incurred from healthcare expenses and nothing more.
