Prevent the interruption of mail delivery by local authorities in non-emergency situations.

Created on March 26, 2016

It has been reported that on 3/17/16 Mr. Glen Grays, a United States Post Office mail carrier, was arrested by members of the New York Police Dept. while delivering mail. The reason for the arrest appears to be frivolous. While members of the NYPD amused themselves, the mail truck and its contents were left unattended on a New York City street. A US mail carrier is an employee of the federal government, and their lives should not be carelessly put at risk. US citizens' mail should not be thrown to the ground, or left unsecured, on a local authorities' whim. Please remind local authorities that US mail delivery takes precedence over local agencies' enjoyment of power. US citizens rely on the USPS to deliver mail swiftly and securely, in all parts of the country
